Even if you were pressed for time, it did not seem to effect of the result of the photo, because I think you have pictured this beautiful waterfall really well. Especially the flow of water is well captured, and I also like your vantage point.

The photo is very sharp and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the photo. The exposure is spot on.

I also like the way you have cropped the photo and the placement of the water fall within the frame. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo Bob, and with an excellent DOF.

Love the photo of this waterfall, its very well focused and I love how you captured the falling water, and I think the rocks at the bottom of the photo really add to it. Well done

Hi Dan .. The amount of water falling determines how long an exposure I want. With great volumes of water flow I will shoot long exposures 2-3 secs. For this take I wanted to see the rocks behind the water, .4-.8 secs. I feel that conveys the sense of low flow.

Thank you so very much for your kind words and great rating. I am glad you liked the post ... Bob

The slow shutterspeed has created a good photo of these waterfalls, and detail is really good my only though was the contest was about smallish waterfalls and this looks reasonably big but that aside you done a good job with this one..Brian

Bob, this photo doesn't need any confessions or forgiveness (not that I know what a variable density filter is tho!) it's beautiful whatever you used!
The slow shutter speed has given the water that lovely silky feel to it, the whole is well focused with excellent dof and the colours look natural.
I do like how the sun is shining solely on the rocks and trees above - a nightmare for exposure, which you have overcome with ease.
A lovely shot.

Charlotte, Thanks for the great review and rating. The shutter speed at .8 secs was just slow enough to give the take a sense of water movement and not the look of a blurred stream of white milk. Glad you liked the shot ... Bob

You?re more than welcome Bob. Yes I much prefer the effect you got than the white milk effect - I?ve made a note of your shutter speed as I?ve never managed to achieve silky water, so thank you for that.

I do like this setting and your capture of it, artist Bob, and thanks for sharing. It would have been a fine entry into the "small waterfalls" contest, better than some I've seen. I like the way it drops in a rather straight line of white before the rocks.

I love waterfalls but when traveling it is difficult to spend the time setting up the shots so totally understand the use of a filter and it has worked well. We would be lucky to get a trickle over our falls after a dry season so view this with amazement at the amount of water rushing over. Beautifully composed with excellent choice of settings. Thanks for sharing Bob.
