Fog in the forest in the morning

This image indeed has a strong visual impact because of the strong red colors, but I also like the simplicity and the faded sun and the contrast between sharp and well defined trees in the foreground and the blurred ones behind. This adds depth to the image.

The format and framing is perfect, and with the sun off to the right, it is a fine balance in the composition. This is a truly beautiful and well done digital painting Allan.

Wow, thank you so much Annie. I know this is pretty red, but that is what the contest wanted this time. You did catch the essence of what I was trying to paint on this one. Thanks again, especially the high rating that encourages me .

Hi Allan, I wouldn't call this a feeble attempt at all! I'd call this "The Red Mist"! Love the feel that emanates from this. One might think the Martians were taking over the earth. I love the red horizon. You can barely see the sun which gives the feeling of mystery. Lighting is very good and the trees in the forefront are focused nicely. I really enjoyed seeing this! Very Cool! :o) Nancy

Thanks Nancy, I appreciate your vote of confidence. I think two that Martians could pop up at any time now. If it were not for the red contest I would have made it more Earthian. lol

Oh gee I thought it was a foggy day on Mars! Lol..the depth is good. The shading is great. The details is great. The blend of the colors is great. The presentation is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Creative approach and good job overall

lol, indeed a Marsian landscape. The problem I had was this was an Art-red contest. Otherwise the colors would have been a more Earthly tone for sure. Thanks for the feedback, a good chuckle also.

Oh my goodness! I thought this was a photograph! A while back I posted a similar image only the sky was more gold . I love the red tones and the accurate way you show the tones change around the sun . Love the way the fog filters the sun giving it the look of a round balloon that hovers over on the right above the bare branched trees.
I can see the thought you have applied here with the front trees so well defined and the back trees showing through the fog.
This is a beautiful piece, it's peaceful to view there is a sense of stillness. It's beautiful Allan and it's truly a pleasure to view!

Thank Pat, glad you liked this. It is a bit red but the contest called for red. I am glad you caught the subtle sun low on the horizon. A casual look would not have caught that.

Indeed, the darker foreground trees were meant to give depth to the scene. I am sure in AK you have quite the collection of dramatic foggy scenes. And, thanks so much for the high rating, my art is still evolving and that is a confidence boost.

This is wonderful Alan. You have just the perfect amount of blacks in this giving it a bold and beautiful gradient effect. Framed and composed beautifully with perfect trees. Wonderful work.
