Doe and a weathered skull

Well I believe this is a great outside photo contest entry. You can't get much more outside than being in the middle of nature. I think this is a wonderful image. I love how you have captured the doe almost camouflaged in the vegetation and snow. The wooded backdrop is perfect. I am wondering if the doe was going for the corn or maybe she wanted to see what was attached to the antlers. LOL Great details and interest. Great focus. Nicely balanced and perfectly presented.
I am really enjoying this image and I wish you the best of luck in the contest!

It is a unique and captivating nature photography that combines elements of wildlife and still life in an interesting way. The use of a skull as a focal point gives the image a somewhat eerie feel, while the deer in the foreground adds a sense of movement and life. the snow-covered tall grass sets the mood for the serene and peaceful scene. The adjustments made to sharpness, brightness, and saturation enhance the overall look of the image and bring out the details in the skull and deer.

Lol, you should enter this under "add a title". I can think of so many good ones. Your shot is very well done. Love the snow on her face and the composition.

It's outside isn't it, and that's what they asked for! So I can't see why not - if I were one of the judges, it would definitely be shortlisted!
This photo is truly wonderful, but I sincerely hope the skull wasn't someone she knew, or an old flame!
I love your photography (but you already know that! Lol) and this image is no exception, it's interesting, it's different and it's been taken with superb camera technique, which shows immediately - and it's snowing to boot!
Very, very good luck in the contest, though personally I don't think you'll need it!

    You?re more than welcome. Yes, I was very surprised (and rather confused!) that this didn?t win. I don?t always understand the reasons behind the judge?s votes.

    Same here, but to be honest,I was actually pleasantly surprised that it got third place; never know what they are looking for in this contest.

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Looks like and sounds like your cunning tactic worked well. Colours, textures and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!

a good idea and entry to the "Outside Photo Contest" with this very impressive skul mounted on a pole; the doe posing for the camera is an excellent addition;

Interesting presentation. Out-of-the-box thinking. The light and shadows, muted colours and composition have worked out well. Good luck!

The background is fine with the trees and snow in the forest as well as upon the browns in the middle and foreground. The deer certainly is lovely but might be better composed if over a little. Fine outdoors photography I think.

That is really beautiful and captures the essence of winter among the wildlife. I like the soft neutral colors and the way the deer is looking at the camera. I would like a little bit more room on the right but overall it is a great image.

    Thank you, I agree with you,think it was a case of not having time to adjust the focal length of the lens.
