You have a potential career in food advertising if you want it. I see a piece of food photography that got the most important criteria for this art form - Get a tight shot of the entire subject.
Leaving the few crumbs from the slice removed is simply genius. You would be surprised by how other food shooters wouldn't allow crumbs in the shot, let alone show it with a piece missing.
This is one of the best food shots I've seen to date. Wish I had a six ... Bob

This looks really yummy! Well focused and the subject is centered nicely in the photo. The light background helps the Cheesecake to stand out. Good luck in the food contest!

This really does make me feel hungry as I love chocolate. The cake appears to be in focus and you have positioned it well so that all of the plate is in the shot. You might have got rid of the crumbs at the front though or added a lot more to denote enthusiastic eating of the cake perhaps.

This looks yummy indeed. I don't care for cheesecake but this one because of so much chocolate and the fact it is set on a bed of buttery cinnamon pecans, which I love, makes it a topper with me. Best wishes indeed.
