I think this is a fine action shot Allan, and you are right, it must take some skills to throw out a net like this. You have captured the background sea so well, and the stop action is perfect. The man is standing out from the background in an excellent way.

The photo is sharp and it is clear and well defined details to be seen in the fishing net. When it comes to the light, the man is probably a bit under exposed.

The way you have cropped the photo works well, and with the man off to the left, it is a fine balance in the composition. I think it is a lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

Thanks Annie, I did have a problem with the man and his exposure.
Getting him properly exposed may have blown out the net and waves. I had to settle for a semi silhouette I guess. If I had thrown the net like his it would have been a big mess of plastic lines and weight all tangled up!

The photograph is excellent with great details, especially on the net, not an easy task to do.
