You couldn't plan a better shot if you tried. LOL. You caught the bee in either early morning or late afternoon by the shadows. The light is hitting the bee just right. A degree either way it would of been in the shadows. The colors are very vibrant and rich. Helps the flower pop off the page. Great image. Thanks for sharing.

I really like how you got this close up of a bee, it's very well focused, and the colours you got are really good. I like how you did a dark background, I think that really adds to the colour, well done.

A beautiful sunlit picture of the Bombus terrestris Bumblebee her pollen baskets bulging & bristles covered in pollen collected from the stamens of the pale purple Crocus. The sunlight lighting up the pistil & stamens in the centre & the pollen covered Bumblebee. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques& sharp focus. Good luck in the contest.
Susan.

This is an interesting capture. The pollen covered bee resting on the flower makes it interesting to view. Fine composition, soft colours and very good light make this first-rate

Fine capture of the insect, bee, although it is indeed overloaded with pollen. The petals in the flower are lovely with many shadows. The yellow and red bottom colors are nice. Best wishes in the contest. Not seeing the bee at all, except for its legs takes away slightly but it still is fine work.

Thanks Glena. I don?t understand what you mean about only seeing the bee?s legs, there?s only a small corner of him at the bottom that?s obscured by the stamen???

This is so nicely done. The beautiful purple flower with it's awesome deep golden / orange stamen has definitely drawn the attention of the bumble bee too. He's doing his job. Great lighting and framing. Not to mention great timing. You managed to get that bee and still capture the color and detail of the flower's stamen. Good job. That flower's center has such a beautiful contrast and lovely detail. Good job.

Your title is perfect for this little guy. He has been working hard. Your use of shadow and shade is very effective. The DOF is amazing. I like the way you stacked the blooms in vertical display fills the scene so well. I can't wait for Spring.

Thank you so much for your great review.
I noticed this week that my snowdrops are in bloom, so spring is on its way! :)

We are -9 degrees this morning. Where are you living.

    Oh wow that's cold!
I live in England - so in fact my having snowdrops has probably nothing to do with when you'll get spring!!! LOL

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of that bee which has obviously been very busy! Colours, textures and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!
