Pat this is a really interesting and lovely shot, I'm glad you told us what the shadow was as we might still be wondering! Lol It would have been a good shot anyway, without the shadow, but that patch of striped light really makes it.
I love your use of the oil paint filter, it certainly does work very well on the trees. Your composition, exposure, dof and focus are all, as always, spot on. Nice one.

Hi Pat, I'm thinking that the bar shadows might be caused from inner light shining thru a deck railing. I love it! There is something about that shadow and the magnificent pine tree together that make a very interesting image. Your oil paint filter worked some nice magic on the scene. Love the POV, focus and lighting but especially the view of the shot! I have one six star rating left and am more than happy to give it to you for this wonderful shot! Very, Very Cool! :o) Nancy

Pat this is so cool, no pun intended. LOL I love the lines and textures. I love the shadow affects in the snow. The snow on the pine tree is creating such an interesting pattern and design. I like the monochromatic effect. It really displays the dark and light perfectly. I love this photo. Absolutely beautiful!

Wonderful photograph and so nicely enhanced with the mixed media to show the unique texture of the natural world. The snow, barren trees and its shadows are so nicely presented.
Pat, very good eye for the beauty at night.

Nicely done Pat. Good composition, framing, focus and dof. Love what you did with the trees. At first I thought this was an art work. Love the railing lines on the snow. Hope you didn't have to dig out from all that. Thanks for sharing.

February the Second?
That's the Wiccan 'Feast of Imbolc' and it reminds us that Beltane ( AKA 'May Eve' ) and Springtime are On The Way! : D
And that picture is Perfect!
It's got a great 'Mysterious' tone ( the kind that I really like! ) and it looks Terrific!

I say it every time brrrrrrrrrr. Lol..yeah had a lil cold front hit us. It got down in the 50's! Then is warmed up to the high 70's! Evil grin..lol. the clarity is great. The angle of the shot of the tree And building buried in the now is great. The capture of the light is great. The presentation is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall.
