This is a lovely heron, and fine capture of it; however, I can see more of its head than some of your others, either in its diving down or its reflections which are very clearly seen.

I'm not sure about this whole 'headless birds' thing,my friend,but this is easily the best looking example of one of those 'Frenchy inspired' images that I've seen here lately!
( I enjoy your always interesting photos to begin with and I think this one is pretty Cool! )

Neat image for the contest! Very creative. It is well focused but if it were my image I would have made it slightly brighter but that's just me. It's still a great capture. Thanks for sharing!

Ha i saw this contest and i was sure i had erased all my pictures where the head wasnt' showing. This heron is perfect for this contest and yet he gives a nice reflection in the water.

Very nice shot of this head less heron fishing in the shallows. Dinner is of most importance. the reflection adds to the beauty of this shot. Good luck in the headless contest. Ray

:):) It is always nice to see alternate approaches. Fine entry. The clarity of the image is good. The light and shadows, colours and composition have worked out well. Good luck!

no reason to be sorry! I'm very glad that you have found a headless heron in your area because some people didn't believe that we have some headless birds at our lake; lol;

Ha ha they?re not so rare as you think! But my apology was for the full name I gave to this particular breed of heron, I just couldn?t resist it! If you didn?t notice it, then have another look. Lol lol lol

I noticed of course "common gold"

You missed the Super! :-)

Woo hoo, this photo of a headless heron is a hoot! I mean, who needs a head when you've got feathers that shine like that, right? The dark background is the perfect backdrop to showcase the bird's stunning feather detail, which is so well lit that I can almost see the ripples in the water reflecting off its feathers. The way the heron's head is submerged in the water adds a touch of humor to the photo, making it not just a beautiful capture, but a fun one too.

With the opening line of a review like that, it?s such a shame it?s a heron and not an owl! Lol
I?m pleased you like it and that you find it fun, but so far no one has noticed it?s full title which was what I found the most fun in posting it - maybe my humour was too subtle:-(
Thanks for your great review

A good looking entry into the co petition posted here! Your fine and full composition grants us an enjoyable view of that hungry bird. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!
