Hitching a Ride
A baby baboon on his mother's back11 total reviews

The photo is a beautiful and intimate capture of a mother and baby baboon in their natural habitat. You have done a great job of capturing the moment and It seems to be well-composed.
The focus is sharp, with the mother and baby baboon clearly in focus. The minor curves and levels adjustments appear to have enhanced the contrast and tonal range of the image, resulting in a more dynamic image. I like the fact that the baby appeared to be staring straight at the photographer, too.

A beautiful picture of the baby Baboon hitching a ride on it's mother's back the sunlight glowing through it's ears while highlighting it's head & it's mothers thick fur on her back, while it's eyes are fixed on you. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

despite the absence of mom's head it is still an excellent close up since it shows so nicely the cute baby looking at the photographer;.......

Thanks Fred, yes it was the baby I was wanting capture - it hadn't even occurred to me about mom's head until the first of quite a few had mentioned it! Maybe it would have been better with a tight crop of just the baby - but then unfortunately we'd get even closer to mom's rather unattractive rear end! Lol

Thanks Brian, yes it was the only shot I could get before she quickly disappeared into the undergrowth.

This is a really good photograph pertaining to wildlife and best wishes in the contest. The baby baboon is carried well but I can't tell where the mama's head is. That is unclear but I won't deduct a .5.

Thanks Glena, that?s the problem with photography we can?t always put things where we want them. I only managed this one shot before she disappeared into the undergrowth, but to be honest it was the baby I was more interested in.

You are so right. What you wished for is what you got: the baby so wide-eyed and precious. Fine work anyway.

It might be too young to understand that Humans are creatures to be wary of!
That's a fine looking photograph of this pair of interesting primates,my friend!

Thanks Sean. Yes, he was probably wondering what on earth these hairless apes are! But no doubt he?ll understand the dangers soon enough.

'No Doubt' about that!

What a cutie pie! How exciting to have been able to capture this shot. It is compelling, sharply focused, framed very well using the rule of thirds and has perfect exposure. You can almost reach out and touch the baby.

What acute shot! Looks like this little character is barely hanging on. Good focus and lighting on your subject. You were lucky to come across this duo. Nice to have this little guy looking at you it makes the picture. Good luck in the contest! :o) Helvi
