My artist friend Susan, the bird is lovely and clearly seen although it camouflages against the ground, grasses, and twigs. I like the softness in its chest. The border adds to the composition. Good photography.

Susan this is a super fine shot of this very attractive bird. Small birds on the ground can be problematic from a camera angle point of view. But in this case the camera angle makes the shot.

Your camera settings are well established and have produced a high resolution image of good contrast, color and tonal range.

Just off center framing gives a lot of depth and focus of the subject - well done.

The details of the bird are all in sharp focus.

Excellent work ... Bob

She looks as proud as a peacock!:) This is a lovelyshot of the little bird. Looks so natural. You have framed it well. Light and sharpness are very effective in creating a lovely capture. Good luck in the contest!

your birds have always inappropriate names....
this so called "blackcap" has a bright brown cap, nothing black! a good close up of this bird looking back if Miss Jesse doesn't follow;

    Fred,
    Merci beaucoup mille fois for your complementary review on this little female Blackcap....the male Blackcap has a jet black cap as the name suggests. The female needs to be less visible when she is sitting on her eggs.

Such a sweet little bird.
Well captured with good focus, this image is clear, exposure is correct, colors and tones appear natural. I like the way she is posing here with her head turned to allow a good look at her face ! I appreciate that clear eye!
Well composed, nicely presented within your added border!
