an excellent capture of this waterfall Bob and a good explanation too how you realized it; I always like the capture of a silky effect of a waterfall;

Very well composed, I like the diagonal look to the water. There is a lot of foreground interest to complement the rocks and water. The slower shutter speed gave the milky look to the water, just perfecct.

I've always admired how photographers could get that soft feel to a waterfall shot. Still learning that one myself. The angle of this is very interesting. It gives you an idea of how high the waterfall is. It's a neat image. Thanks for sharing.

    There are a couple of ways to get that silky white effect. Camera settings only - Manual, low ISO, stop down to f/24-32, 1/10 sec or longer. The other way is set the camera to full auto and add a 'Variable Density Filter', also know as a 'Fader'. I use both.

This is a beautiful photograph of waterfall. The colour is good and it's very well focussed. I love how white the falling water is, it really adds to the photo, well done.

Hi Bob, Those is a beautiful shot of the falls. When I was a kid we went several times to the White Mt. area in NH. Its been a while since I've seen these falls but if I remember right you have to go down a staircase and they are sharply to the left at the bottom. You must have been standing in the water to get a shot like this. You did a beautiful job capturing these falls.Love the lighting and focus. Nice Job! :o) Nancy

    Your right about standing in the water, Nancy. I wanted to keep the foreground rock in the frame. It gave dimension to the splash pool.

Very nice waterfall. I like the shutter speed you used. I can see the rocks the right side. But very little on the left. That's ok. You used the polarizer for a natal density filter good idea.

Great capture of this beautiful waterfall - it does indeed look like a silky veil and thank you for your explicit notes accompanying this. Love all the patterns shown in the rocks surrounding the waterfall. Very good lighting and focus. Great composition. Suzanne
