A beautiful creation Nancy! I like how you have used the expressionist filter to give these pretty petals some life and it looks like also an edging tool for definition. I really like the 3D effect that makes these look like they are leaping out of a box. Lovely work, thanks for sharing and best wishes for the contest! Also, I think the other flowers are chrysanthemums. :-)

This is a wonderful melding of pink roses and light lavender spider mums. Chrysanthemums are beautiful resilient flowers. You have done a wonderful job putting these flowers together against a vibrant blue background. The roses shine and overall view is stunning and very sixy. :) Ray

Nancy this is wonderful, it must have taken you ages, but what a result!! I love it!
I'm at a loss for words - focus, dof, composition. . .blah blah blah. . .all brilliant, it goes without saying.
But how on earth did you cut out all those feathery petals? They're incredibly well done (I made a close inspection! Lol), I'm very impressed. I also really like how you've achieved the background with the blue and black, plus the added bouquet transparency!
Well evidently it's definitely not worth my while entering the flower contest now, I'd not have a hope in hell! Lol

Hi Charlotte, When I have to do delicate cutting I enlarge the image so it's easier to do. I'm glad there wasn't a lot to do in this one because it does take a bit of time. I am incredibly honored by all the lovely compliments! Thank you so much for the super wonderful review! :o) Nancy

This is dazzling mixed media, dear friend, Nancy. The background with the blue on black adds so much. The flowers are beautiful, some of them look drawn outstandingly. The vase and green leaves are also splendid. Best wishes in the contest.

I always enjoy your insight into your art. You colours are bold and alive.. You apply colours in a layered technique that seem to unite the thought process and the concept behind it. Good luck!

This is such a lovely image. I am not familiar with your technique but it does sound labor intensive. Your efforts have paid of extremely well. Excellent colors. Great background is very effective. Bright and happy. A very pleasant view. Nicely accomplished!
