Phenomenal white balance control Pat. Yeah I figured it was a capture of mother natures natural monochrome.

Excellent camera settings, you caught the mood so very well.

DOF is excellent for the subject matter. There is strong detail across the entire image.

To an old time Vermonter like myself this is a beautiful composition. The framing is expressive and conveys a strong sense of Winter... Bob

Had this at our house yesterday. Covered in snow. We got ten inches in one night. You can almost feel the briskness of the image. Very well done. Thanks for sharing.

I fondly envy your wintry experience with being exposed to what is supposed to be the definition of the Winter season. Here in the state of Maryland, where I live, our late 2022- 2023 Winter season has been really atypical- so far, no snow in the months of December, January, February, and so far, no snow has been seen since March began. All the weather we have experienced in Maryland has been a lot of rainy days, temperatures ranging from 40-some degrees up to 70 degrees. The children really miss playing in the snow. Anyway, thanks for reading my 'venting' passages.
Your photograph here is a brilliant 'virtual immersion' in being bundled up in the warmest clothes and bravely skiing on snow-covered ground.

Your image definitely tells the story of the cold weather. Your handling of exposure for these conditions is excellent and your composition is good. An interesting image to view from the nice warm day here in Australia :)

Oh Oh , too cold, bone chilling cold. You have to be dressed right for this scene and don't stay out to long. Personally I don't mind the cold as long as I do not get wet. I am a retired Lieutenant in the New York City Fire department so I know wet and cold, so now I stay warm and not wet. Thank yo for sharing this beautiful picture. Ray

Great photograph of the scenery that feel cold even if in only on the screen.
Excellent details with the fog and snow beautifully blending and camouflaging the trees and shrubs.
Wonderful composition!

I think I would have stayed at home with weather like that! Which just shows you're a more dedicated photographer than me! Lol
A very atmospheric photo Pat, so well done - I think you have the whole community of FAR shivering in their shoes now!

Wow, Pat. I do not envy you. I have chills just looking at it! Funny how an extremely gloomy day can produce the appearance of a black and white image.
Just this morning, I looked out my bathroom window and admired my azalea bushes in bloom and smiled. Spring comes early in Alabama!
Wanna visit? (Wink)

I had the pleasure of viewing your snowy landscape photograph, and I must say it's a stunning piece of art. The heavy snow covering the ground in the foreground and the snowy trees on both sides of the frame create a serene and peaceful winter scene.
Your ability to capture the natural beauty of the Anchorage Park landscape in such frigid conditions is impressive.
Your statement about the photograph not being black and white but a true reflection of how it was that day adds to the authenticity of the image. It's clear that you have a keen eye for detail and a strong creative vision, where less is more ...
