Roger,
A beautiful picture of a yellow/orange Harlequin Ladybird stepping across from a developing marrow on to a stem. The light sparkling on it's eye & it's spotted wing covers. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Artist Dodgement, this is a beautiful work. The shell with its vividness in the shell(s), the smaller top and the head. The background is so nice. Congratulations on your win. You deserved it, artist friend Roger.

If this had been pin sharp i would have given this a six, still a good one but the limited dof has made the ladybird just a slight blurred in this one,but still a good one...Brian

They're handsome little insects,aren't they?
I'm enjoying your well-presented and fine looking photograph of this cheerfully colorful specimen very much,my friend!

Lighting and focus are spot on. The slightly angled scene gives this an artistic flair. I like the tight crop which gives us a detail view.
Good luck in the contest.
