The more colorful foul on the brush pile is rather lovely. She must be sitting on a nest according to your witty title. The swirls in the water, especially in that farther away are nice, different. What is the large animal or fowl in the front? Surely, according to your witty title, it must be her mate, or of the same or a near species. Upon looking closer, I see his face in front and the tail feathers behind in the water more, I think. Fine water I see also.

Welcome. I thought so. Lovely blues and whites in both.

I see a warm nature take with a great amount of initial visual impact.
The framing of this composition tells a wonderful story with a lot of human interest.
This is a beautiful composition that is well framed and makes use of excellent lighting and is captured with superb camera techniques and sharp focus... Bob

For the longest time, I had no idea what type of birds these were until I saw one at our local zoo. Nice capture of these interesting birds. Thanks for sharing.

Fred,
A beautiful picture of the pair of Coots ~ Fulica atra. One incubating the eggs on the untidy nest of sticks. Both parents incubate the eggs. The reflections of the surrounding vegetation & sky above on the ripples make this picture special. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
