Jodi,
A beautiful & dramatic scene of the twin mountain Spanish Peaks in southern Colorado their bare rocky peaks bathed in sunshine, along with the lower slopes & trees in the foreground. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

About two and a half miles up that is up there, very majestic as it stands and has stood for many a year. Jodi have you ever been to the top? Mountains are amazing and formed by a powerful force. Wow 2 1/2 miles high. Ray

    Thanks Ray! I have not been to the top but have been closer to the base. It is rough road to be sure!! Appreciate your comments :-)

The post processing efforts have given this take a dated essence, that looks good and is fitting.

The camera settings are spot on excellent.

The DOF is excellent for the subject matter and there is strong detail across the entire image.

Some might object to the amount of foreground. I think if you took any more off the foreground the tall trees would take a lot away from the central subject.

Excellent landscape... Bob

    Thank you Bob! I read an article long ago that advised to focus on the furthest point away and not worry about the rest to display a pleasing depth in landscape shots. I try to always follow this rule when photographing landscapes and think it works out well! Your comments are much appreciated!

Great photograph of these two mountains that are gracefully towering into the clear blue sky.
Beautiful colors, details and balanced composition.
Jodi, thank you for sharing.

Rather a majestic looking mountain, is that snow in the crevices? A lovely photo of it too! Not too sure on the pinkish edging - and what are chromatic abrasions anyway? Might a dark vignette worked as well?
Your image is beautifully focused with excellent dof keeping the whole in good detail. Lovely natural colours.

    Hi Charlotte, thanks so much for your comments! This pic was overly blue due to the color of the sky and mountain so I applied the lavender filter to bring the chromatic tones under control - chromatic abrasion happens when colors are too rich and turn un-natural. I could have corrected it through the camera but was motoring around with my husband who was growing thin on patience after 3 hours of shooting!

a nice capture of this tall mountain in the background with some snow at the higher level; good composition; I would include the entire house at the bottom right;

This series of mountain peaks, the tallest being the middle, are lovely. The blue tints cast upon them add to their beauty, actually help make it. The sky is lovely. The foreground with a few bushes/trees and a building top are rather nice too. You did a fine job capturing and thanks for sharing.

This scene reminds me of how the White Mountains over in New Hampshire look in the summertime!
