The bird is nice with its blue, black and white. The shadows are nice as are the bushes by the water, but they look somewhat blurred as do the bird's blue feathers. Perhaps it needs to be reloaded. It is a nice scene.

Yes. I like it even better in the smaller version. Welcome.

He must be working too hard, why else would he take off and once he took off what would he do with it? where would he keep it? You have done a fine job capturing this male in flight off of the bank which he does off ten. Ray

These birds are so shy. They will flush for the slightest of movement or sound. And their so graceful in flight.

The color range, contrast and lighting of the take are well balanced and contribute nicely to the overall eye appeal of your composition.

In all honesty I have to say this is one heck of a shot. It's really too bad the shutter release was too slow... Bob

Fred,
A beautiful stop action picture of the Grey Heron in flight over your lake & then reflected along with the rushes along the shore on the lakes glistening surface.
Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with excellent techniques, I think there was some camera shake as you clicked the shutter.

A reasonable looking nature image posted here! Your fine and classical composition offers us an OK view of that take off. Exposure is fine but your image is not sharp enough. Otherwise, nice try!

Oh Fred I don't understand, you post that stunning shot of a coypu where everything about it was so perfect, and then you post this!?! Not only is the heron blurred (which might have been acceptable to illustrate your notes), but the entire image is completely out of focus and moving! It makes me feel I'm on some fairground ride, with that movement sickness that comes with it. Please tell me why you even post images like this, because I truly don't understand.

Ah now that I do understand, that?s always so frustrating when that happens! It is a shame, because the composition is spot on!

Hi Fred a good thought taking this image but from what I can see all of it is VERY blurry. Not one bit of detail is in focus. I feel the need to be honest and not trying to be harsh.

May be thought you were shooting him with shot gun:) Good timing. Good looking shot. This is a wonderful shot of nature. You have timed it well. The light and shadows, colours and, composition have worked out well.
