What attracted me to this image was the was the rich butterscotch color of the flowers in the thumbnail.
In opening it up, to the larger size, that aspect was still appealing, however the lack of crispness, of clarity, the lack good focus on the flowers was a real detractor to the presentation.
The composition is good, but that focus, makes it less appalling visually.
The other thing that would make it better, if the negative space was not black. A nice dark green a cool complimentary color would help the flowers stand out better and add a nice perspective and depth to the image.
Those are my reasons for the rating.

This is skilled photography and the arrangement and composition are lovely. The yellows, oranges, and lighter greens make these indeed golden yellow flowers. The dark background makes it pop. Best wishes in the contest.
