Absolutely beautiful! I'm intrigued because the M. Bay Fig is an Australian tree, but we don't have monkeys. Was your location a zoo?

mary, I LOVE the darkness and shadows of this monkey next to the tree. Gives such a mystery about him and keeps him right in our view.

Love the details you were able to handle as well. Great work

A beautiful capture Mary! I'm sure some have commented on how dark it is, but I really like that, it illustrates very well why they're so hard to see!
Beautifully focused, showing excellent detail, particularly in the most important head and eye.
Fine composition in placing him to the left looking upwards, with the green plant balancing the image on the right.
Great exposure giving lovely natural colours.
And such a cute subject, he's so appealing!

Mary this is one cool looking monkey and you caught him at his cuteness. I really think he is looking for a fig. You are right about those eyes, captivating. Very nice shot. Ray

Hi Mary, This little guy is so cute! Normally might say something about the lighting because the monkey sort of disappears into the darkness.
I think in this image the darkness fits. I can imagine the monkey trying to hide in the shadows. We can see just enough of his fur to make out his shape. His head is beautifully lit so we see his tilted head. The white fringe on the top of his head, the eyes and his nose and chin not only have nice lighting but good focus too. I like the mystery in this shot too! One can't help but wonder what has captured the monkey's attention. Nice job My Friend! My imagination enjoyed your vision of this little guy! Wish I had six stars for you!

You did an outstanding capture of this monkey that blends in so well with its surroundings. The one eye shown and that sheen of the top of its head are captured fantastically.
