This makes me feel sorry for the little guy, he or she is all alone on the pond,
Well placed within the frame , we can see the texture of the feathers and you managed to capture the eye .it could be a bit sharper, I suspect that you are close to the limit of your cameras zoom.

Thanks a million for your complementary review on this little Coot Chick...you are right I was at the limit of the zoom & I had to crop the picture. My other pictures of it with the adult were just a blur,
