The composition is great showing the Gray Catbird nicely against the mottled background. The focus is sharp on the eye of the bird and the plumage is shown with clarity.

First, your background is lovely, so picturesque. So, this is what a catbird looks like! It is lovely. You have captured a very nice pose, it seemingly posing although the food is below. LOL. The metal of the hinge is so plain also.

Bob,
A beautiful picture of your Gray Catbird perched beside the half Orange on your feeder. The light sparkling in his eye while highlighting his grey plumage both standing out from the blurred green backdrop. beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

A wonderful capture Bob! Your feathered friend is showing off well in this shot. The lighting is superb with a glistening eye and well defined textures. You have created beautiful depth against the pretty green bokeh background. He looks so alert and birds are smart - sounds like you are getting him trained and ready for a summer of exciting photo opportunities! Can't wait to see more!

Yeah these guys and Baltimore Orioles love citrus. But what they really go nuts for is grape jelly. Get the cheapest concord grape jelly you can find and they are yours for life. They will eat that until they can't no more. They eat so much I worry they will get so fat that they can't fly!
Thank you for the fine review and rating ... Bob

Another adaptation of nature Fred. The Catbird is so called because of the way it mimics the 'meow' of the domestic cat. The reason for this is to frighten away competitors for food. I've seen this playout a couple of times. The bird will 'meow' from heavy cover, move and repeat the call until the other birds have fled.
