A beautiful picture of the American Viper slithering out of the grass
The light catching the sparkle in it's eye & the shine on it's scaley skin while highlighting the patterns on it.
Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.
I'd have stayed in the car + put my foot on the accelerator!!!
We have NO snakes in Ireland.
Good luck in the contest.

Cool!
That's one of our ( most ancient and most sacred ) Totem Animals and you've presented us with a fine looking portrait
photograph of this handsome specimen!
'Good Show',my friend!

I?m glad it?s NOT too close by, but glad that I was able to actually see one for the first time, hope to have an opportunity to see one again!

A good looking image posted here into the competition, together with interesting and detailed notes too! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us a good view of that snake. Colours, textures and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!

Thank you, I didn?t want to get too close to it either, it wasn?t overly happy by my presence to start with!

Wow I've never seen a rattlesnake, well except in old black and white westerns of course! Lol What a great find!
Beautifully sharp with wonderful detail, particularly in the scaly skin.
Exposure is spot on giving lovely natural colours.
And good composition as he slithers across the image - I would like to say it would be even better if he was looking at the camera, but I know only too well this kind of opportunity doesn't come every day and you've gotta click away and hope for the best before the subject disappears. So hat off to you for managing to get such a quality photo in the time you had!

For the life of me, I could not think of an image that was fitting for the letter V photo contest! Well, you did! A viper! Eeeew! I hate snakes but you have captured it clearly and it's perfect for the contest! Good luck!

Thank you very much; I originally was planing on using a vulture photo but decided to go with this instead !

Yes. Rattlesnakes are nature's serpentine marvels. One has to approach them respectfully, for within their coiled bodies lies a testament to their adaptability. The nice-looking shot creates fear in our minds. Well done. Good luck!
