Love this out of the box entry into the "Pet" part of the contest, LOL You brought back memories for me. My cat once proudly brought me a baby bird, Loggerhead Strike to be exact. I took it and hand feed and raised it. He was a real character and always a friend. He was not kept in a cage. Anyway, this is a great picture. Glad you got such a cool shot.

Hi Charlotte, what an amazing pet and story to go along with it! Great capture with extraordinary focus so we can see the little mouse perfectly. Such a unique entry to the contest, best wishes!!

Thank you So much Jodi, for your great review - but even more so for reading the contest rules and NOT pointing out to me that it?s neither a dog nor a cat!! Lol

neither dog nor cat but just a mouse interested in your camera; not sure it will be accepted in the dog and cat contest; but if he was able to take a pic you should post it;

If you read the rules of the contest Fred, you'll see it's marked as a photo contest for ANY pet.

look again: it is clearly indicated:
    DOG AND CAT CONTEST

Look again: it is clearly indicated: OR OTHER PETS
Here, I?ve copied and pasted the rules for you as you evidently didn?t read them:
The theme for this photography contest is dogs and cats. But maybe your pet is a snake or a turtle or something else. So we are opening it up to other pets.

Hmmm contest is for Dog or Cat not Pet Photo but it is a cute little mouse.
We used to get them in our first home and my husband caught them, released them outside and usually they were back inside before him - then got a cat who just watched them run by.
Anyway lovely image with sharp focus on the little rodent.

    Thanks Mary!
In the contest small print it does say it?s for any pet - it would have certainly been a lot simpler if they?d just called it a pet contest!

Oh ok didn't read small print just went by title - agree should be called Pets Contest

No worries Mary. But yes, it certainly would have made my life a lot easier if they had! Lol

This is so cute and funny and really clever an inventive Charlotte ,my first though cat/dog contest then i read pet [a bit confusing to say the least] anyway i do like that although your son is out of focus it does mean the focus is pin sharp on the mouse, well good one this...Brian

Yay Brian gave me a six whoop whoop whoop! Thank you very much!!
I know right, why didn?t they just call it a pet contest??? I fear I may get a lot of reviewers trying to teach me the difference between cats dogs and mice! Lol
Thank you Brian for your great review and rating!

This is an excellent capture that Disney would be envious of.! I admire your patience and tenacity in shooting Mr Mickey. He is gazing adoringly at the camera. Sorry. I have run out of six. Well done!

Thank you so much Sesha, no worries on the six, I?ll regard it as a virtual one and anyway it?s the thought that counts!

Thank you so much Jewell - being a female, I rather hope not as with my luck she?d probably be pregnant!! Lol

Charlotte,
I had to give her a Six for posing on top of your Lumix Camera the light twinkling in her little beady black eyes, her ears pricked to catch every word you uttered even if they were under your breath! Your son adds interest to the background. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.
I had a pet Field mouse called Thumblina.. when I was a child.

Leave it up to you Charlotte to come up with this, without a doubt this could develop into a children's book. I like this very much. You never cease to amaze me. Ray

Aww thank you So much Ray! I am a bit of a sucker for animals and this one definitely won my heart. Hmm good idea, maybe I?ll write her story on Fanstory - if the right prompt comes along!
