I love the contrast in this photo as well as the lighting. The time of day that it was taken allowed the shadows to highlight details perfectly.

This is a gorgeous statue, the utmost top standing so golden against the sky. The sky is gorgeous, unique, with its rays dashing down behind and the mixture of whites and blues. Best wishes in the contest with your Mixed Media entry.

This is a fantastic piece of sculpture/ architecture. The works from this time period always amaze me. It's mind boggling how they accomplished some of the construction and details with the limited tools and technology they had. In regards to the actual photo, the clarity is spot on and the multiple exposures have definitely added some depth and allowed this lovely sculpture to vibrate against the rich blue grey sky and come alive in the frame. Great submission!

Thank you so much Lisa, for your great review, I really appreciate your kind words.
Yes the quality of workmanship was incredible in then, so much better than it is now - despite our so called advances!

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of that legendary Queen. Well done and good luck! Textures, colours and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine.

A beautiful picture of the Victoria Memorial outside Buckingham palace topped by Winged Victory standing on a globe set against a blue sky with high flying white clouds and two vapour trials. The sunlight glistening on winged Victory while highlighting Queen Victoria and the two winged figures on either side. Beautiful sunlit composition, framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus. Good luck in the contest.

This is to good a shot for my contest and might try to get you banned from entering my contests lol.
The hdr effect has bought out this effect and love the sky in this ]vapour trails maybe not,but very minor point what also strikes me is the low angle [something i agree with]and wish would study this and see how different you can make a shot stand out, good one...Brian

Ha ha not if I can help it! Lol
Just take it as a lesson and don?t get so discouraged next time - personally I think your subjects for contests are great and so different from the same old, same old, it makes a great change.

might just let you then, yes i will put a few more in,they have just put on another dog/cat contest why when there are so many subjects out there

Oh what?! Oh yes, so they have. If it?s for all pets, why not just call it a pet contest - then I wouldn?t get so many complaints when I enter a photo of a mouse!! Ugh!

Thank you Jennifer. I?m not too sure what you mean on the cropping? The editing you can see are the effects of the use of HDR, which are always very distinctive.

This is a beautiful statue. You have used your talent to make this impressive presentation very enjoyable and you even managed to get the planes vapor trail just for good measure. This is a winner to me. The best of luck in the contest. Ray

Thank you very much. It?s the HDR that naturally enhances the background as it blends three different exposures together (kinda why I like doing pics in HDR) - so I can?t accept the credit for that, that?s just how it came out.
