I like the way you did the closeup. Also, the black and white works well. Is this just a head statue or is there more that you cropped off?

do these folks that have large country homes open their homes to the public or is it someone you know? just curious of the tradition than trying to get personal. i was thinking it maybe part of a tourist route. still cool capture. the angle of the shot of this statue facial is great. the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. im not a photographer but just curious why you crop out part of the head? still its a good capture.

    thanks Mark for the good comments,this country house opened the gardens for an open day with stalls etc you had to pay to go in and the house was out of bounds although the gardens were open

What a lovely statue, very Modigliani style.
A beautifully taken photo too, though slightly burnt out on the top of the head.
Focus is spot on, composition is great with that close crop, any particular reason for clipping the left side? I'm sure there must have been something there you didn't want to include.
I really like this.
