Susan, such cute photos of these two playing in the water. They are placed nicely within the frame; good contrast of light and shadows on the water.
Thank you for sharing!

Adult and juvenile animals interacting is always an interesting subject to me. Great job capturing that opportunity. Not everyone has the same equipment, but greater detail when enlarged would be a bonus. Personally, I would lessen the contrast. White areas are blown out, and other areas are dark. Lighting unfortunately doesn't always cooperate with nature photography.

Timothy,
Thanks a million for your review.
I know it's NOT perfect I have a Compact camera not a DSLR.... It was taken at full zoom so the focus goes when over enlarged on your screen. I've been watching this pair for over a month now just praying the juvenile does not land up in the stomach of a greedy Grey Heron.

I've never even seen a grebe chick, let alone managed to photograph one Susan, so bravo for that alone!
I like the almost diagonal of the green water, with the two white edges top and bottom and how you've placed the birds in the frame. You've caught the two of them very well, and so nice that the chick is facing towards us.

Charlotte,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on the Little Grebe & her month old chick.
Grebes are a smaller version of Moorhen with a ginger coloured head & big feet. ( They are also called Dabchicks.)

You?re very welcome Susan.
Gosh I never knew that dabchicks were the same thing! You always manage to educate me! So thank You!

Artist friend Susan, this is lovely. I really like that colorful head, the burnt orange-brown and fluffiness. The other Grebe is adorable. Both in such green water with the whites toward the front and distant top. Enjoyed your narrative and nice reflections too of the two Grebe.

I truly enjoy you giving us a little education about the subjects of your image. I also like your use of borders, they frame the photo nicely.
The colors here are lovely and composition is very good.
I wish that the image could've been a bit sharper but overall it is a wonderful image.

Thanks a million for your positive review on the Little Grebes juvenile & adult. Being at the limit of my 30x zoom can make the image appear less sharp than I'd wish it to be.

You are most welcome, Susan. You really managed that 30x zoom well!

Hi Susan.. Extra nice shot. It has a lot going for it, especially the reflections of the two birds.
This excellently framed composition is bright and colorful and gives us an pleasing look at these two Grebe.
The exposure settings are sharp and the DOF has all aspects of the two birds in fine focus.
Well done!... Bob

Thanks a million for your positive & complementary review on these Little Grebe with long legs & large unwebbed feet unlike ducks who have SHORT legs & webbed feet.
