This is just a lovely photo!! I love the thought put into it and the memories attached to it as well. My brother collects old cameras and restores many. They are so interesting! Absolutely great photo!! Congrats!

A beautifully nostalgic shot for us, but with such beautiful meaning for you - what a lovely way to honour your dad.
The photo itself is pretty darn good too, I believe he would have been very proud of you!
I love the hard clarity of the camera against the softer butterfly and, even softer still, daisy.
The grey sheet background is perfect and makes the subject really pop, and the composition is lovely.
Very good luck in the contest!

Thanks so much for the wonderful review and comments, Charlotte, they mean more to me than you can know. My Dad has been gone 5 years now, I have so many images I wish I could have shared with him; He never had a computer or anything more than a basic cell phone, so I would run off prints of my photos to mail to him, or bring up when I visited him; his praise meant the world to me.

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine and full composition grants us an enjoyable view of that old camera. Textures and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine well done and good luck!

Rolle flex was a real hot favourite in my younger days too. A frontrunner in the reflex feature. This is a lovely composition made with love for your Dad . Light and sharpness are very effective in creating a lovely presentation in B&W. It gives it the right mood.Good effort!

Really nice shot of this old camera and the b/w was the right choice in this, not oversure about the use of flower/butterfly though,as i think the camera alone is the main focus, good one for the contest..Brian

Thank you, I had a sepia tone version of this, but decided the black and white version was more fitting for era. Added the Monarch and daisy as they are both favorites of mine, and I had used a rose in a earlier photo with this camera and his old Yashica.

Thanks so much my friend, my dad had an old Yashica that I have, also!

This is a wonderful photograph, depicting an old camera, seemingly in good shape, and a lovely butterfly which has been around for years; the black and white, gray scale makes all look older, even the flower.

Most welcome. Fine work, as usual.

I absolutely love this photograph. The placement of the camera, the beautiful monarch butterfly seeming to enjoy his rest upon the camera and the flower which draws to eye to the piece itself. Well done!!
