It is a nice photo. Show bird in all glory, with spread wings. Great job in taking a photo in the water and not using a tripod or flash camera. And that it is alive, wild animal it makes it a lot harder to take a good photo.

Good capture of this heron and the fact you got it with the wingspan at full stretch means you observed this one really well sometimes you get a lucky shot with wildlife and sometimes its a matter of observation like sange does or used to,well done for this...Brian
