Beautiful sunflower with its orange-yellow colors. The middle is lovely, quite detailed too, Thanks for sharing both the skilled close-up photography and the narrative.

Hi Bob, The bee might have been uninvited but I think it adds a nice touch! The bee shows off just how big the flower is! What a great place to fill up with pollen. It doesn't hurt that the bee has a touch of yellow in him too! I like the story this image tells. Love all the texture in this! Nice job with the focus and lighting too! Good Luck in the "yellow contest! :o) Nancy

Bob,
A beautiful picture of the heart of this Sunflower with a bumblebee I think might be a Bombus fraternus busy sucking nectar while it pollenates the Sunflower. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Within the sunflower's embrace, a microcosm of existence unfolds. Delicate seeds, nature's promise of continuation, share space with a diligent bee, capturing the essence. Great looking shot!

A very good looking, striking image posted here together with interesting notes too! Your fine and classical macro composition offers us an enjoyable view of the centre of that beautiful bloom. The bee is a lovely added bonus. Great shot!

What a great shot Bob, I love how the symmetry of it is only broken by the uninvited bee - who I might say, placed himself beautifully at exactly the right spot!
The detail, especially in the centre of the sunflower, is stunning, and without the petals losing their sharpness.
I'm wondering if it might need a slight tweak as it's a little more orange than the normal yellow of a traditional sunflower - though while in France recently, I did see some red sunflowers (which I didn't know even existed!), so this may be the true colour of your one (and my apologies for the nit pick if that's so).
A beautiful eye catching shot, taken with the expertise that you are known for.

Hi Charlotte.. Yeah, I have a few shots of a red, a pink, a yellow and now orange sunflowers - Gregor Mendel and Heredity, who knew?

I'm glad you liked the post. Thank you, for the excellent review and rating!... Bob

    Bob, you?re more than welcome.
Yes I was dumb to think that with what we can do these days with genetics and heredity, there wouldn?t be a range of different coloured sunflowers!

Hi Brian.. Most of the time these days I'm using a tele-zoom. It's a treat to test myself with a fixed focus lens every now and then.

Thank you for the fine review and rating. I'm glad you liked the post ... Bob

This is a very vibrant and stunning photo. The rich orange shades accentuate the center of the flower. Clarity and tones are perfect. Lighting is correct. Nicely done
