What an impressive geological history and beautiful photo that captured part of it. I had to look up ammonites and they are amazing (they died out about 66 million years ago!).
The photo is nicely composed and has great depth of field. The colors are lovely as well as the cloud reflections in the water. Would love to see more of the Jurassic Coast, it's beautiful!

    Thank you so much Bay!
Being an ardent beach comber, I just loved this stretch of beach as finding ammonites is so much more exciting than finding shells! I even found a small gold coloured one (caused by iron pyrite) just lying on the beach, but huge ones can be regularly seen in the rock face! If ever you come to England, this coastline is a must.

Thanks for the info. Although brief, I enjoyed it. The fluffy clouds are lovely. I like the clouds and sky reflections part of the water. This is a very nice coastal landscape entry and best wishes in the contest. Skilled capture.

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine and classical composition offers us an enjoyable view of that beautiful coastline. Visited my aunt and uncle around there back in the 60's and 70's. Textures, colours and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!

Thank you for your good review Brian. I do love this part of England, and being a persistent beach comber, it?s so much more interesting collecting fossils than shells!

Such a wonderful and beautifully presented scene. The beautiful skies with the billowing clouds showing off the horizon. The reflections off of the water just out to this beautiful visual very well done.

Thanks Sean, I thought this place might appeal to you! Just walking along the beach I found a couple of small ammonites (including one gold coloured one!), and there were many more stuck solid in the cliffs! You would love it.

nice capture. the angle of the shot of the reflective water, cloudy skyview and mountainous skyline is great. the capture of the light great. the clarity is great. the presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.
