This is a beautiful and well thought out presentation of these lovely yellow flowers nestled within the leaves. I love your black background and your composition. A winner in my books

A well-composed photo of the yellow hollyhocks has a clear focal point, with the flowers arranged in an aesthetically pleasing way. The photo also has a good balance of negative space and foreground/background interest.Good luck!

I'm not sure why this hasn't received a six yet, it's simply gorgeous! Well, I've rectified that now and given it what it deserves!
Your focus and dof are just wonderful, there isn't anywhere that's even slightly soft.
The exposure is spot on, producing perfect natural colours.
I always love black backgrounds with flowers, it really makes them pop.
And your editing is just gorgeous and finishes it off perfectly.
Very good luck in the contest.

I almost wish that when we have a color contest we don,t have flowers in, but having said that this is a good one and the yellow stands out well with the darkish backdrop...Brian

Thank you, Brian; I understand what you mean, I wish some of the Outdoor and Wildlife contests stated no birds, seeing that they have their own contest!

Perfect idea to use a black background for this lovely yellow hollihock. It i s amazing how many species of flowers we have. I cannot even imagine can you?
With each being so photogenic that you can easily personify them. This set of quintuplets are shining bright and poses so wonderfully. - Smiles. - :)
I wish you the beat of luck on your well balanced and clearly captured portrait!

This is a great looking Floral Image,LeeAnn!
I truthfully 'don't know beans' about horticulture
( besides the fact that flowers don't prosper in ground that's been soaked in old automotive chemicals) but I think your nicely-presented photo of these classy blossoms looks Great!
