Beautiful and powerful imagery. The simplicity of this painting is fabulous. A single white swan on a still black pond with only it's reflection makes me think of the swan I used to see in a pond on my way to work for years. It's mate had been hit by a car and it was alone swimming on that pond for a few years until one day it was gone. I don't know if it left for a new pond or died but it was gone. I would feel so sad seeing it swimming alone every day with only it's reflection to keep it company. This painting conveys that somber mood perfectly. Love it!

Stunning in its simplicity, yet with so much beautiful detail, I feel I could reach out and feel the texture of those white feathers. The reflection is perfect. The black background totally works for me here. A beautiful oil painting and very clever work. Worthy of a 6th star in my book.
