First of all. Congratulations as a contest winner. Indeed well deserved for this great shot, and for sure worth 6 stars.
I especially like the way the duck is posing for you, and how well you have captured the reflections and ripples in the shiny blue water. It is also standing out from the background in an excellent way.
The photo is just pin sharp, and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen in the feathers of the duck, and the exposure is spot on.
The photo is also nicely cropped, and the duck has got a perfect placement within the frame. It is a truly lovely and well taken photo Allan, and with an excellent DOF.

Good one for the contest is this and althought the reflection is not clear don,t think it matters to much in this because its the mallard thats the main subject...brian

A good capture of the female Mallard Duck - not as colorful as the male but still a beautiful bird.
Focus is sharp and the clarity of plumage good.

Thanks for the nice review. Indeed Mother nature tries to camouflage
the females so they are less visible to predators as they hatch their eggs.
