nice hayday capture. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of the hay field, bundles and sky view is great. the capture of the light is great. the presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

I think that this is a Fine Looking photograph!
It shows us a nicely-presented and enjoyably interesting scene that's a lot of fun to look at!
'Good Show',my friend!

Texture.. Well this dramatic shot has texture to spare. The sky by itself has at least three different textures.

This take is excellently framed. The close up of the bale sets the scale of this field.

This take has excellent color reproduction, camera angle, contrast and detail, well done

This is an excellent entry for this contest, good luck... Bob

A beautiful picture that brings me right back to our Farm in Rishangles, only ten it was square not large round bales, with wind blown clouds been blown across this East Anglian sky. Beautiful & dramatic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

    Thank you very much Susan.
I just looked up Rishangles to see exactly where it is, and the old church has been beautifully converted into a B&B! I usually hate it when people convert old buildings as normally they ruin them, but this has been done really nicely - it comes up on Google when you just put in the name of the village, have a look. :)

Our Farm, was Bucks Hall Farm... there was a dwelling there in the Doomsday Book. It consisted of two houses the back built of Wattle & daub, it's front door & the Lavatory window at the back came from a Church or Monastery at the time of the dissolution of the monasteries, at the back was evidence of a moat. To the lefthand side is a deep pond, that the Ordnance survey man told us was probably where the clay was dug to make the wattle & daube bricks that were about 3feet long a foot high & deep. These were tarred up to about 3 foot & then painted with Suffolk pink paint. On front added on was a red brick house with a red tiled roof & Elizabethan Ridge tiles. I believe it's a listed building. There may have been modification made since we lived there ( we left in 1955)

    Charlotte,
I just found Bucks Hall farm on the Internet. It's almost as I remember it but lacking the Ivy that covered the front & with a modern extension built onto the side.

The choice of the depth of field in this photo creates a dreamy, ethereal quality that enhances the field's charm. The textures are eye catching. Overall, a fine looking capture for the contest. Good luck!

The sky is rather nice, seemingly even with texture, but not soft and puffy. I've always liked bales of hay and this one is shiny. The spiky stubble grasses to make more bales are full of texture as is the back of hay itself. Best wishes in the contest.
