This is a gorgeous digital rose, artist friend. The gold lighting the soft whites and lavenders is truly beautiful. The same colors on the sides, top, and bottom are nice. Expressive indeed!

When I first looked at this image I thought it was a photo you had used filters on, but no, it is a digital painting, and it looks absolutely beautiful.
I especially like the color pallet you have used, and how the warm light seems to come from the inside of the rose. The brush work is just excellent.
The format and framing is very good and the rose looks good centered. Indeed a lovely and well done digital painting Allan, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thanks Annie, some people say as you did, it looks like a photograph and it looks like 3D. Two of the things that are different in digital painting over oil or acrylic is that you can use layers to create the final image and you can zoom in. By zooming is from a postage stamp area to letter size paper, you can create a lot more detail, making is look smoother like a photo. By using layers you can create a separate background and then layer the subject on that. It is much more user friendly that regular painting for sure. This is the only painting I do now.

Its a good job you have descibed how this was created because i thought at first it was a photo think its getting harder to guess how a photo.art on here now lucky people do descibe the process like you have,anyway a good image...Brian

Thanks Brian, I appreciate your comments. Digital painting can be made to look like a photography as you can zoon in and create much more detail than oil or acrylic painting. I am hooked.
