I see him and also a couple of his friends are off to the right, well one thing you probably want see to many people swimming there. I really like this secluded spot where you could probably get away for a little while. I also like how the rocks stand out and in the foreground the waves are crashing in. I also like the skyline which I think makes this photo stand out. I wish you the best in the contest and thanks for sharing this. Good Luck. JackJr.

Thank you very much Jack, for your review, I really appreciate your feedback.
No, nobody was (or would) swim here, it was completely empty - just how I like it! :)

Really a superb photo posted here with (in my opinion) just the right amount of HDR to show off the clarity of all the lovely details. The cloud formations add interest to the sky and yes, I spotted the gull up on his vantage point. The rock pools captured here in the foreground really add to the overall image making it a joy to view. It's a great entry for the contest Charlotte - good luck!

Absolutely lovely shot of the coast, here. I like the seagull too. Glad you pointed it out. The rocky terrain gives this a unique perspective. Not your typical seascape and I like that. Perfect balance and exposure. Beautiful. Good luck in the contest!

Quite the contrary Charlotte, the gull was the first thing that got my attention.

This piece has a lot to say and it certainly meets the main criteria of this contest.

I am glad that you didn't crop to much of the foreground - it makes this shot. Taking anything away from the front would alter this shot to much.

I see just enough sky to get the moody aspect of this shot.

The colors are grand and like the HDR refinements - Bravo.

This should do very well in the contest... Bob

Bob, it?s what I would expect from you, the gull was the first thing I spotted too, hence the photo.
Thank you very much for your review, the original was much nicer, rounder and softer, but when I uploaded it here it looked so blurry I had to sharpen it - I hate it when that happens as I don?t really like over-sharpened photos, which is what I feel this one is now :( But hey ho.

Yes can see the seagull in this, kinda looks a bit lost, like the rocky scene and sort of reminds you of cornwall, have been to brittany many years ago and it remind me of cornwall,a good seascape though..Brian

A fine-looking capture. A well-composed photo of a rocky coastline that has a clear focal point, with the rocks spread out and arranged in an aesthetically pleasing way. The photo has a good balance of negative space Yes. I did notice the lonely seagull having his fill of the seascape! Good luck!

This is indeed a beautiful entry into a contest like this, and I especially like your vantage point including so much of the foreground. You have brought out so well the fine textures of the rocks, probably due to the HDR.

The photo is also sharp showing clear and well defined details all over, and the exposure is just perfect. A couple of seagulls add interest.

The format and framing is very good, and I think it is a fine balance in the composition. It is a truly lovely and well taken photo Charlotte, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.

Charlotte,
A beautiful picture of the rocky shore line in Brittany with the Herring Gull perched on the top of the rocks in the centre standing out clearly from the overcast sky above that are reflected on to the surface of the incoming tide. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

COOL! ( Yeah,again! )
This is a great looking photo,Charlotte, and I like how it immediately brought to my mind an echo from the song 'Nautical Disaster' by the Canadian rock band 'The Tragically Hip'... something about " ... some rocky socket on the coast of France..."
Groovy,Charlotte!

Beautiful photograph of these rocky shores in France. It remains me coastal lines in the southern Oregon where similar rock formations occur.
Wonderful details, colors and composition. Thank you for sharing!
