Vader is absolutely handsome and it is as though he knew you wanted a good pose. He is a big guy! The colors of Autumn showing off in the background are an added bonus to your wonderful shot! I hope he makes it!

Many thanks for the great review and extra star, he?s in rut right now, busy chasing does around, hopefully the girls will keep him over here at least during the day!

A beautiful photo presented here of this regal buck looking outward to say don't mess with me. Your composition shades tones and angle creates the mood perfectly. Thank you for sharing

Valder is an impressive looking buck, and I especially like that he was looking at you when the photo was taken. I also like a lot the background with the autumn colors, and how well the buck is standing out from it.

The photo is sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the buck and the textures of the fur are well seen. The exposure is perfect.

The tall format is the best, and the buck is well placed within the frame. I think this is a beautiful and well taken photo Lee Ann, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.

An excellent nature image posed here together with interesting but sad notes too! Your fine and full composition offers us an enjoyable of your handsome Vader. What a name? Exposure and sharpness are spot on. Great photo and good luck!

I wish life was fairer and we could go shoot us a few hunters and hang their heads on the wall!!! What is their problem that they derive pleasure from killing such beautiful creatures! Grrrrr
Sorry, rant over, but it just makes me so mad!
Lee-Ann you've produced another stunning photo! Everything about it is just perfect - focus, dof, exposure, composition and editing, what more can I say?
Which program do you use for the glow and vintage filters? I keep seeing them mentioned, but Photoshop doesn't appear to have them.
Very good luck in the contest (though not too much! Lol)

Rant away, I know what you mean; I cultivate a trust with these deer, and losing each one is very personal, they are more than just *deer* to me, I really wish no one hunted around here! Thanks so very much for the great review and extra star, and of course your well wishes, also! I do my editing on my iPad, I downloaded the app Snapseed for it, and it has the vintage and glow filters on it; I don?t think I can get Photoshop for it, it?s probably just as well as I would be taking forever editing my photos, which I?m pretty much doing now anyways-lol! Sorry it?s taken me awhile to respond, i have been following this guy around pretty much every day for awhile as he chases the does that are in heat, so I?m not getting a whole lot done!

Thanks for the info! I'll look in to it.
No worries for late replies, I've not been around much recently either.
I've always envied your relationship with your deer, my dream life - but I certainly don't envy your pain when they are butchered by those b....s, I don't think I could handle it as you appear to.

A great animal portrait with his eyes looking directly into the lens. I like the tones you have captured with the autumn colors behind a great background. Great detail in his skin and antlers.

This is such a magnificent portrait of this buck in rut! The swelling of the neck tells a story.

The fall coloring in the background looks great as the viewer looks through the antlers to the back. Beautifully framed.

Good luck in the contest.
