Absolutely stunning photograph of this dramatic waterfall.
Bob, the details and natural colors are spectacular.
The light shining on the smooth water are adding dimension and interest.

You for sure found the perfect place to picture Garfield falls, and you have captured the flow of water really well. I sort of like the dabbled light falling on the falls.
Most of the photo is nice and sharp, but the spray at the bottom could have been better defined. The exposure and white balance is however perfect.
The tall format is of course very good, and the falls are well placed in the picture. It is an all together lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

You for sure found the perfect place to picture Garfield falls, and you have captured the flow of water really well. I sort of like the dabbled light falling on the falls.
Most of the photo is nice and sharp, but the spray at the bottom could have been better defined. The exposure and white balance is however perfect.
The tall format is of course very good, and the falls are well placed in the picture. It is an all together lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

A splendid shot. You've got the best vantage point. I also like how you've include those wild plants in the foreground, adding more life to this already awesome scene. Well captured and artist's notes is super informative.

A beautiful picture of the Garfield Falls. Your long exposure makes the falling water look like fine silk fabric like a wedding veil blowing about in the breeze framed by the rocks over which the water is falling. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Good you got all of this in bob but do feel the shutterspeed is a tad bit slow for this,have seen waterfalls where this has given it a silky look but it just needed a bit more for this one...Brian

Brian I think you mean the shutter speed was a "tad bit" fast @ .8 sec.
Because of the diminished water flow it took between 3.5 sec to 5 second (slow) shutter release to get that silky look on the shots I took with and without a fader.
The 8 long counts I took from this same angle were indeed silky but some blown out whites, harsh shadows. But most distressing was the motion of the green plants and leaves caused by the turbulence generated by the falls themselves - steeper the plunge = greater turbulence.

Well framed and the slow shutter speed worked well in creating the curtain effect. My only thought is that the image lacks a little in vibrance and texture for a landscape. Shooting waterfalls is always a difficult challenge when there is sunlight and I think you did very well under those circumstances.

I think that is what enthralls me about waterfalls Sean. Over the past few decades of shooting waterfalls I have learned and believe is that each fall is unique. Each has a character - a vibe, that if you pay attention you can sense and feel.
