This is a lovely eye for the contest entry. The iris with the color and light is especially nice as are the lashes. As beautiful as it is, the whites and directly outside the eye would be even more beautiful and realistic if they were smoothed at least a little more. You did correctly and having the lashes cross and become less dense toward the inside of the eye. And, yes, layering in pastels, colored pencils and such mediums always makes the work look more realistic. Outstanding work here.

This is SO well drawn, the detail is exquisite, making the eye so very lifelike that I almost expect it to blink!
The variety of the colours, particularly in the iris, the overall delicate shading and fine lines of the lashes give such life to the drawing!
If I was the judge this would definitely be the winner - unfortunately I'm not, so all I can do is to wish you the very best of luck!

A well drawn artwork (like this) is worth a hundred AI works, and I will always choose GOOD traditional art over anything computer generated - but I'm a tough critic when it comes to 'good'!!! Lol
I hope you don't mind, but on an earlier review I did of someone else's eye drawing I recommended that they look at yours to see how it 'should' be done - I felt they needed to see the difference. I should have asked your permission, my apologies for not having done so.
