I enjoyed your commentary. The sky is simply lovely and brightens the stone work, the whole tower and flag atop the work. Your angles are really nice and this fine photo would be appropriate in several contests. Best wishes.

Charlotte,
A beautiful picture of the Martello Tower topped by a Union Jack flapping in the breeze with steps with a fence on either side leading up to the entrance the blue sky & the shingle beach making the perfect backdrop. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.
I seem to remember that the beach has ridges going down to the water 's edge. At least that's my memory after 60years .

Thank you very much for your great review Susan!
I took this a while back, so I can?t actually remember what the beach was like - I re-discovered it on an old memory stick I found in the bottom of a drawer, I was so pleased as I lost nearly all my photos a few years back, when my 2 external hard drives both died on the same day! 😭😪

This is a really cool angle on this. Love how you knelt to get a eye level view. Gives it depth and adds a bit of drama to the scene. Wonderfully taken thanks for sharing.

Hi Charlotte, I love how the bridge to the tower narrows in and leads your eyes right to the door. Excellent focus and lighting on this with wonderful presentation. You so want to open that door and explore. Looks like you were there on a beautiful day. The sky has barely a cloud in it. Love the curiosity of the place. Very cool and fun image! Good Luck in the contest! :o) Nancy

Oh the joys of an ultra wide angle lens! Don?t you just love ?em! :)

Thank you so much Nancy for letting me steal one of your coveted sixes!

This one has actually been converted into a B&B, so you could open that door and explore - for a very high price!! Lol

Hi Maureen, yes of course, it?s in Aldeburgh in Suffolk, England - part of that bulge on the southeast coast, which includes Essex below and Norfolk above it.
Thank you very much for your review.

In the heart of Europe, a timeless marvel stands tall, draped in history, and adorned with a flag that dances with the winds of endurance, encapsulating two centuries of stories. A captivating photo! Good luck!

Charlotte, beautiful capture of this early 1800s fort. One of a hundred or so. The railings on the approach create a vanishing point perspective. I like this piece of history and all against a bright blue sky. Ray

A good entry into the competition presented here! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of one of those old, unused forts. Textures, colours and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!
