This is indeed a happy looking dog, and I think especially like how well you have done the eyes. I also like the all dark background.
You have brought out the fine textures of fur well when it comes to the head, but think you need to put some more work into body. The white chest almost looks a bit unreal, so I think you should try to blend the white and the grey a bit more into each other.
The face is done paying a very good attention to details, and is also showing good use of high lights.
The tall format works well, and the dog is well placed on the canvas. All together a lovely and well done painting Phyllis.

Wow, thank you so much! I have been painting a little over a year now and have absolutely fallen in love with it. I only have a few other pieces on my portfolio page but only because I take a long time to complete a piece and Lol, of course a full time job gets in my way.
