Hi Jack, This looks like some kind of Swallowtail butterfly.
Moths usually have feathery antennae so you can tell the difference that way. Looks like this guy lost his tails. A slight bit off on focus but a nice shot. :o) Nancy

Another visitor? What planet? Lol..just teasing. It has the markings of a zebra. Very cool. The clarity is great. The angle of the shot of this black and white moth is great. The capture of the light is great. The presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

Great capture of your garden visitor, Jack. The bright green foliage sets it off beautifully. He does look as if he's missing a tail, poor thing. I like the composition with the small flowers adding good contrast. Suzanne

I would say that it is a slightly battered zebra swallowtail, obviously missing its tails! Don't have them here, but I have seen them at a butterfly exhibit. A great capture, I hope you get to see a pristine example this year!

It is a butterfly for sure, and if I am not wrong it is a tiger striped swallowtail. It is standing out so well from the green foliage, and the light is falling on it in a lovely way.

The photo is sharp showing clear and well defined details in the wings of the butterfly, and the exposure is very good. Perhaps a bit over saturated, but I know this is a matter of taste.

The format works well and the butterfly is well placed within the frame. It is a lovely and well taken photo JackJr. and with a very good DOF.

I live in the country in the middle if the woods. I love to sit on my front porch and also take walks throughout the forest. there's so many beautiful flowers and butterflies that show up! I don't remember what this one is called, but I have seen these as well. You did a good job, capturing it. It seems a little bit blurry at the bottom of the butterfly, but it could be that it's just smudged wings.
Nice capture!

I used to be really good at butterfly images but as I aged so did my brain, or lack of memory I should say lol. The colors, tone, lighting and sharpness really nice. Thanks for sharing this wonderful work!

This is a beautiful insect. I've never seen one quite like it. The details you have captured are great as are the colours. I particularly like the little bit of red on his tail. It's the perfect compliment to all the lovely greens in the background. Well done!

A nice capture of this butterfly. The Black and white stands out well against the green background. However not as sharp in detail as it could be.

JackJr such a beautiful butter moth. This guy could get lost on a zebra. when their wings are formed the wings are together creating mirror images on the wings. Love your work, very nice. Ray
