Because of the redness in abundance in this sort of reminds you of strong autumn colors or in this case color, seems ray you did use a lot of red in this but has a certain charm because of that...brian

An excellent entry for this contest! What a wonderful experience to be one of the painters being able to come across this gorgeous scene an paint it. The red foliage is breathtaking, captured at the peak of color, like a fire before it burns itself out and nothing is left but ashes. I wouldn't mind coming across this and photographing it. My very best wishes to you in this contest!

I love all of the red's in this photo. It is a true fall picture of I think what would be maple trees at their brightest! Amazing creation! Great entry into the contest...good luck!

In the sea of red, I see that there is a certain mystery. Overall, this red-dominated abstract painting is a captivating journey into a world of senses. You have skillfully used the colour and the brushstrokes. Good luck!

Sesha, I am so glad that you enjoyed this landscape of artists painting out doors. It was done with a palette knife. Thank you for your review. Ray

This is quite a lovely semi abstract landscape of fall trees. The colours are so vibrant and you have good depth in the trees. Even though there are no real details in the leaves it conveys the mood of an autumn forest. Well done!

In my humble opinion there are few things in life that are not better done outdoors. I particularly love al fresco dining, weather permitting. The weather in this gorgeous autumnal image looks warm and perfect for enjoying those beautiful colours of fall (I am practically American in my lingo since I rejoined FAR) Those russet and amber tones make the foliage look as though it is on fire. I love this Ray - it would have been a six if I could.

This is a beautiful entry for this contest! I love the red foliage! I can actually see the artists in foreground painting this scene! This makes me think of the time I was at Tern lake and when I drove around to the back of the lake, there were artists lined up and painting the scenery . This is so well created to bring out the texture and colors of autumn, very well shown light and shadows and I like the hint of blue sky behind the trees!
Very well presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!

Pat, Plein air is challenging but so much fun. It is all a matter of recording, in your style, what you see outdoors. Thank you so much for your wonderful review, rating and comments. I am so glad you enjoy this, I tried to paint it the way it is. Ray

You should write in English! Plein Air is a French expression for painting in "open air". I do not speak French and do not wish to ever!!
