Two items immediately strike me, the color patterns and the shapes. I think the flower and background colors are perfect for this piece. They are warm and glowing making one feel good!
The smooth and random shape of the flower petals contrast directly with the metal sculpture in the background as well as the frame holding the flower. Very unique for sure. Nice job.

You do seem to do a lot of these inside shots annie and i know not so when you go to greece,and although they are good do you not go out and shoot photos of where you live in norway,i say that as alaska pat does a lot of her country....Brian

Thank you so much for the review Brian. First of all you seem to think that all my florals are taken indoors, but most of them are done outside in my garden. The place I live is not as impressive as Alaska, and I don't have time to walk around. I have a 200 m2 house to take care of, and in the summer I have a big garden as well. It is soon time to start to make it ready for spring. During the gardening season I am usually spending about 6 hours in the garden working. The only time I have actually time to travel around is actually when I am in Greece. And not to forget, for me the most fun part of an image is actually the editing. I think I spent about 3 hours on this one.

So lovely. I like the angle and how you've positioned this dahlia facing upward. Clarity of details is superb and those lighted petals added more life to your subject. Pretty artistic darkened background. This should have been a great entry for a Flower Art Contest.

This is a beautiful rendition of the dahlia bloom. The highlighted colors, sharpness and the darkened background show this very well. I would have preferred to see the flower with these effects but without whatever is in the background. I find that rather distracting.
