A lovely shot presented in vertical frame and dark background. I only wish a deeper focus of the stamens.
Informative artist's notes. Wish you luck in this contest.

Hi LeeAnn, Love the way you flower boldly sticks out like a trumpet in the image. Love the way the lighting shows off the single bloom. I think the dark background gives the flower a very cool look. Pinpoint focus makes the flower pop! Very nice presentation! Good Luck in the Contest! :o) Nancy

Never been a huge fan of flower photos, even though I have taken them for others to enjoy. This one however really pops. Fantastic lighting and texture, excellent detail, very well done!

LeeAnn, They are like night time morning glories. The moths love them. You are welcome. Ray

Good flower photo and the black background has lifted the whiteness in this, think although its fairly sharpish it just needs a tweak more[of course it could be download] i have noticed this a couple of times with mine, but still like it and the angle of the flower works for this..Brian

This is a really pretty photo. I don't think I've ever seen a flower like this before. I really really love the purple edgings of the flower. And it really does resemble a trumpet shape! Thank you for sharing this picture :)

Many thanks; they are also quite large, as some of my plants have had blooms about 5 inches across.

This is a truly beautiful flower, and I especially like how lovely the light is falling on it. The all dark background looks great, and the flower is standing out from it in an excellent way.

The focus is spot on and sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the flower. The exposure and white balance is perfect.

The format and framing works so well, and I like the slight diagonal placement of the bloom. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo Lee Ann, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.
