Welcome to the exciting world of photojournalism, Charlotte. Don't ever feel embarrassed, you kept your wits about you and didn't freeze up.
Look at what a little adrenalin rush got you, a fantastic shot that takes the viewer to infinity and beyond. This piece is a classic example of an infinite DOF and super cool framing - kudos, I'm jealous.
I think I have reviewed the eventual winner of this contest. This entry, in my humble opinion, substantially raises the bar for this competition... Bob

Wow Bob, thank you so much, you've made my day with your review!
I should have learnt my lesson though, having been very nearly trampled when using a wide angle lens to capture two heavy horses working the land, not long prior to this shot - but hey ho I don't suppose I ever will! Lol

This is a wonderful shot of a dangerous looking bridge. You have framed it well. The light and shadows, colours, and composition have worked out well. Good effort!

Charlotte,
A heart stopping oicture of the Lorry speeding towards you across the metal bridge over the raging river in flood bringing a load of top soil out to sea where it's lost. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Hi Susan,
Thank you SO much for your great review and the six stars, after the terror of taking the shot, you've made it worth while!

I love the angle of this shot that leads the viewers eye to the distance. The raging waters add drama to the shot, especially as this is a highway for transportation.

Thank you very much for your review! Yes those waters were very scary to look down on, I certainly didn't want to fall in!

Love the perspective you took this image from and yes the wide angle lens can be very deceptive when it comes to distance.
The colors are natural and focus and dof are good.
Have seen many people putting themselves in danger to get the "selfie" but not one to get a shot like this - great story.

Thank you very much for your review, I'm pleased you enjoyed the story behind the shot, I don't think I've ever run so fast in my life! Lol

Hi Charlotte, I think this shows how we get so fascinated with a picture we're taking, that we forget where we are. I bet your legs never moved so fast! LOL Glad you ,made it safely across! Love the view of the bridge. I didn't even notice the lorry at first, I was so taken with the long view down the bridge. Nice job with both the image and your running ability! Great shot for the contest!

That is surely a narrow crossing that I would never cross. Do you see the water on both sides of bridge looking fierce and raging no ma'am I'm not crossing it lol. Wonderful photograph your took right here. You can see every detail in everything and question did you take this on the bridge? Or before you got on the bridge? Excellent work, thank you for sharing

Thank you very much Devonte, I was about half way across the bridge when I spotted the lorry, so had a fair way to run! It was terrifying! Lol

A good looking image posted here into the competition together with dramatic and amusing notes too! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us a very good view of your location and situation. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!

Interesting entry for this contest! I like the diminishing perspective of the bridge and the truck coming towards us shows how narrow this bridge is.
Well photographed with good focus, this image is sharp and clear and your exposure is correct.
You have brought out good detail in the wood .
Colors abd tones appear natural.
Well composed allowing a good sense of being on this bridge.
Well presented!
Best wishes to you in this contest!

Thanks Brian. Yes wide angles are always very deceiving with distance - I did the same once before when photographing work horses ploughing, they were virtually on top of me when I took the camera from my eye, I really should have learnt my lesson then! Lol
