What a great shot, worthy of first place. A real steam engine, that must have been thrilling to hear and see, nice post! The steam gives the shot real action and motion.

Hi SuffolkBrian, I love this steam engine enveloped in steam, it's a nostalgic journey back in time, beautifully capturing the romance of vintage travel, well done, cheers.

Brian,
A beautiful picture of these two Steam Trains on either line the Engine facing us belching steam & smoke bringing back memories of my Childhood going to & from school & up to London. I can hear the sound of the train in my head. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

This is an excellent shot of the steam engine. I am surprised to see that they are still choo-chooing!:) You have framed it well, and the focus, clarity, light, and composition work well. Good luck!

This is a great shot Brian, I really don't understand why it didn't place anywhere in the contest, all that steam is just wonderful!
Colours and exposure are good, it's all beautifully focused and the composition is excellent with the rails leaving the shot at the bottom right giving the train 'space to move in to', as it should be. I'm very disappointed that it got nowhere in the contest.

This is an awesome photograph of the old steam engine. The steam surrounding the engine in a surreal image, quite ghostly. I remember these engines from my childhood, especially the ones that went through Teignmouth in Devon UK. They ran along the seafront. Bringa back memories. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Brian, Love the steam coming out of this engine! The steam gives the engine a very powerful look, like it's busting at the seams raring to go! Awesome shot that you can't ignore! I think you captured everything in this shot beautifully. Even the steam has texture! Awesome shot for the contest! Wishing you luck! :o) Nancy

Brian this is a wonderful capture of a great iron machine bathed in steam as it ventures down the steel rails. Truly a rig from the past, tis amazing how far we have come. Thank you for sharing this antique wonder. Ray
