Initial impact is a beautiful blue background, with light and shadowy hues adding a realistic feel. It's a pity the dragonfly was not a bit bigger. Good luck in the contest.

Because the overall caste is blue then this qualifys for the contest even though the main subject is the dragonfly,this must have been difficult to get but the dragonfly is sharp [pity its not bigger] but these are not an easy subject to get[i know as i have tried] also like the single reed as it gives contrast in this,good one...Brian

Hey Mark, this is a cool shot. Perfect technique - the background is in complete and even bokeh. Looks like a satin sheet.
There are only two subjects in the foreground, and both are well seen in high resolution.
In the hands of a skilled shooter these three elements have been enjoyably combined. I find this post to be easy to meditate to, it is calming.
This kind of action take I have always found to be a challenge. I also found an extreme sense of satisfaction when I got it right.
I see a fine entry that demonstrates a keen technical mind and a sharp artistic eye.

So difficult to get Dragonflies in flight but you have achieved a good image of the dragonfly heading toward the feeds. The light and shadow lighting are handled well and your composition is good.
