Nieves.. I don't know many shooters who would spend the time or exert the effort necessary to photograph a Fly. However, your post is a prime example of time and effort well spent.
I have never seen an insect this small in such high resolution and clarity of fine detail as that which you have achieved - Bravo!!
Every aspect of this fly and the stamin is seen in high detail. So much so I can count all the sensory hairs on this creature.
This is a really strong entry and if there is an entry that tops this it must be from another universe.
Good luck... Bob

Bob, you made laugh. Love the last closing line " if there is an entry that tops this it must be from another universe."
Bob, I really thought that this was a tiny bee until someone corrected me. Should I know that this is a fly that actually suck the blood of the cattles and even bites people, I probably will not capture this one. lol! Thanks for the inspiring review.

I have tried many times to get a sharp photo of a bee or fly. This one succeeds more than mine.
I like the composition a lot with the placement of the fly. The background has a nice contrast of light above and dark near the bottom. Well done.

Thanks, Allan. Appreciate the pleasant review.
Likewise, I seldom have luck with bees, too.

Beautiful capture of the Stable Fly enjoying the nectar from the Hibiscus.
You have shown the detail with excellent focus and clarity.
Love the bokeh background and softer focus on the hibiscus.
Excellent to view.

What a great shot, Nieves, excellent. It shows all the intricate parts and perfectly clear. You call them stable flies I think we call the horse flies here. they have a nasty bite that develops into welts. Very enjoyable to see. The best of luck in the contest. Ray

I think this is a very good entry into a contest like this, and I especially like the background because of the lovely colors from the flower, and when nicely softened like this, the fly is standing out in an excellent way.
Your focus is spot on and sharp, and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the fly. The exposure is perfect.
I also like the way you have cropped the photo and the placement of the fly at the top. It is a lovely and well taken photo Nieves, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest. Would have given you 6 stars if I had any left.

This is a wonderful entry into the competition. Beautiful focus and clarity of the fly. It's a pity the stamens were not more in focus, but they do serve as a colorful background. Good luck in the competition.

These flies can certainly be a pest. However, you've caught it at a moment where it's actually kind of sweet. Composition shades, tones, colours and background. Add to this visual experience. Well done.

Nieves,
This is NOT a bee but a Stable Fly ~ Stomoxys calcitrans (Bees have four wings. Flies have only two. The antennae are short, in the bee they are longer. in bees the eyes are usually black, this fly has red eyes.
It will also enjoy the nectar from the stamens of this hibiscus. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
