Hi Maureen, I grew up when there were a lot of westerns on tv and this reminded me of those days. I like the way this youngster is being taught to ride. Very cute! having the dog on the side is a nice touch. Love your presentation! Great image for the summer themed contest! Good Luck! :o) Nancy

I like the colours you used in this lovely pastel image of the child being taught how to ride a horse. Very good use of blending, light and shade and I like the inclusion of the dog patiently watching. Great composition. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

Maureen you have a wonderful sense of tonal values, at first I thought it was a photo. You have chosen beautifully warm bonding of a cowboy and his son the best of luck in the contest. Ray

A good looking image presented here into the competition! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us a very enjoyable view of dad or granddad teaching the youngster. Colours, textures and tones are fine. Nicely drawn and good luck!

Yee Haw!!!!! Yes ma'am the best way to teach your child anything is this right here. This is an adorable moment that you rendered here. Again, you captured the raw moment of a father and son spending time together. Beautifully done, thank you for sharing

I like all the elements of your composition because you've conceptualized this well in a pretty realistic manner. The rustic barn, the pet dog, and the cowboys are my favorite elements, especially that you've showcased that cowboy boots, too. Excellent choice of realistic and contrasting colors like the foreground against the rustic red barn. Framing placement is superb. Great drawing and painting skills and techniques and high on substance and story telling ability.
